My passion for jazz music dates from 1953 when I met Tete Montoliu, the best jazz pianist of the history of our country, who became my musical reference since that July, when I was part of the ensemble of Bonet de San Pedro and Juanito Coll. I spent all summer at Tito’s playing next to Tete and Pilar Morales, Cuban singer, who was then his wife. My friendship with them was for me a link with the jazz almost

permanently, although I’ve almost always been part of groups and orchestras that played “commercial” music: the orquesta of Andrés Cañas, Marimbas de Guatemala, Latin Combo and the German sextet Blue Parrots. With this

experience I trained professionally and I went around the world I met Marita Halse the year she arrived in Mallorca, in 1970, and since then whenever we’ve had opportunity we worked together. Wojtek I had very good references through

Miquel Brunet and Marita, who had sung with him with other groups. It really has been a great pleasure to have the

participation of them in this humble project.
